Surf & Yoga Hotel

This project arises from the matter that gives shape to the region it is located in. The land offers breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape and the immensity of the ocean. From the steep terrain emerge a series of stone elements like lookouts that emulate the cut stones of an abandoned quarry or the country peasants’ huts which still remain intact.

Along a winding path leading up, like how traditional country peasants used to do, small groups of cabins were built on a sloped terrain, which determined the concept behind the three types. The path is also an invitation to climb up to the highest point and leave behind the constraints of bustling daily life to enjoy the overwhelming calm from above it all.

The constant contact with the terrain and the search for comfort were what inspired the different openings and geometry of the bedrooms. The types were adapted to meet various premises. On occasions they adapt to the slope of the terrain or to generate the maximum amount of inside/outside contact. They also fulfil the childhood dream of having a cabin with views of the landscape, speaking to the most thrill-seeking guests and to those who wish to embrace nature in a more romantic and introspective way, as if they were sleeping on a tree branch.
