Renovating tradition
This interior design project entailed the entire renovation of a building located in el Born. Based on its majestic architecture, although abandoned, we focused on emphasising the property’s natural beauty. That is why we accentuated the charm of characteristic details from the time period in which it was built such as the carpentry, high ceilings, thick load-bearing walls and division arches to which we added a selection of finishes inspired in the building’s history. On this solid base, we introduced contrasts by selecting furniture that combines refurbished antique pieces with contemporary design and modern elements.
We achieved chromatic equilibrium in the different rooms by renewing them with elements, such as the checkerboard floor and the rustic wood strips, which attune to the neutral tones selected for the furniture, lighting, and facings. These elements are in addition to the pieces made from wood with a natural finish, white-lacquered furniture, cotton upholstery, and natural fibres for the rugs.
